Tarap

We are well into the fruit season now and the markets are full of all our local favourite fruits - durian, rambutan, the savoury kembayau and many more that are unidentifiable to many and don't even have english names. One of these would be "tarap". It's smell is just as pungent as the durian if not even more. It was my favourite local fruit when I was younger and all three kids now love it especially Ayden. This afternoon he devoured a whole one to himself and had more of the second.

Bukit Shahbandar with the Boys

My first time round Bukit Shahbandar with Jack and Ayden this week. Ayden was very quick on his feet and had to be held back most of the time. As for Jack, his legs couldn't keep with up the speed of his gift of the gab and literally talked all the way round!

International Day 2012

Parents all over LOVE International Day. Its always so nice to see students of all ages wearing their costumes associated with their home countries and with so much pride. As with previous years our three have dressed up in Irish sports costumes.

Jack chose to be Ronan O'Gara complete with bloodied headbandage. Ayden said he was Damien Duff  and Iman inspired by Katie Taylor's gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics paraded complete with boxing gloves.

For the first time the Junior school event was held in the Arts Centre auditorium and although it was nice (and cool) as parents we missed the atmosphere from when the event was held outside in the junior school and had a great community feel to it. Nevertheless, it was nice to see the kids amongst their friends and loving the excitement of their school's special day.
