With Iman and Jack now taking piano lessons in school, we have been under pressure to buy a piano - we will once we are very sure that it be for the long term. In the meantime I have been thinking of an electric keyboard and jumped to an offer from a friend selling one on. So far its been a hit with everyone especially with all the buttons to press and amazing sounds that they produce. It's great watching kids trying to make music as they are convinced that it sounds good to everyone else!

"Leisure" Sundays
Never a dull Sunday in the McCarthy household and today was a particularly busy one. We started with a tennis lesson for all three at 9am! The boys loved and and could have been there all morning except we didn't have all morning as we had to go home and get ready for Iman's sailing. Looks like this is going to be a regular sunday thing except once a month we will have the kids hash as well. Roll on next sunday!!
Salad Boy
Ayden is one of these kids that insists on getting the menu in a restaurant despite not being able to read. He's also big into pointing at the pictures. In one cafe we frequent he is forever insisting on a breakfast item but we always manage to steer him away. Yesterday his next hit was the chicken ceasar salad - he didn't exactly polish it off but made a good attempt at it!

Nemo alert!
The current craze for the kids at the yacht club is fishing - they sit for hours on the pier with rods or string and occasionally come back with a fish decent enough to cook.
As none of the McCarthys are old enough to sit on the pier or fiddle with fishing rods and string, I surprised the kids last sunday with these extra large nets. They loved them and spend hours wading through the muddy water even managing to catch a little fish and two baby shrimp!

CNY 2011
Kids Hash was well over a week ago but I have been having minor problems with the iPhoto. As anticipated the CNY run was a huge success - kids and adults were all entertained by the lion dance. Unfortunately Jack and Ayden were too terrified to watch and instead played in the sand - though Jack afterwards poured over the pictures saying "Wow, the lion did that on the stands, cool! (Grrrr.... ) Iman loved it and "fed" the lions several red envelopes. Must say the "lions" were very patient with the kids' patting and prodding.
