Back in March this year I posted pictures of pitcher plants - I would link back to it if I could but I can't seem to get the original post on its own, yes upgrading my template is on the list of things to do. Anyway on two walks I did with Margaret earlier this week we spotted these beauties.

Hi Eileen, yes the pitcher plant is a carnivorous plant that traps insects. I have now included a wikipedia link for more information.
