The holy month of Ramadan is here again. I will so miss my cup of tea in the mornings. Hopefully I will make the full month as I did last year. For me the key to a successful and healthy month is oatmeal - oh yes yummy porridge. As I write this I am still trying to psyche myself up to have a big bowl of it before going to bed!

By fasting do you mean not eating between meals or what does it mean?

Happy Ramadam beastie xx
Fasting is somewhat different to Lent in Ireland - during Ramadhan, Muslims fast from sun up to sun down which means no eating, drinking, bad thoughts, intimate contact etc. Once a year, people experience what it's like not to have the basic essentials. From sund down to sun up, people eat as normal (actually, a lot eat more than normal and wonder why they put on weight !).
I'm in Bahrain at the moment and it's almost 40 degrees... so fasting here is even more interesting
So, it's a litte more than giving up crisps for lent :-)
Skye - thanks lardy! xx
